3Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:3-5)

It’s fairly easy to sit back in arm chairs and criticize our leaders, but when it comes down to it our bishop has a great weight of responsibility on his shoulders, and we have great respect for his devotion to the service of God and His Church.

Thankfully, God came into the world to save sinners, which is a relief because we know that we all fall far short of the glory of God. The planks in our eyes will certainly hinder our attempts to remove the specks from our bishop’s. But to put it simply, we believe that a speck in the eye of an aeroplane pilot deserves a little bit more attention than a plank in the eye of a passenger flying economy class!
